About Us

Since opening in 2019, the Green Level High School Chorus has grown rapidly and created a program centered around community and musical excellence. In a short amount of time, the choral program has created a strong foundation for years of success to come. They've also done a majority of this growth during the pandemic. Throughout 2020, they put on multiple virtual concerts, and continued to make music together whilst rehearsing and performing from their homes.

"Though separated by distance, their musicianship and artistry came through in every phrase! I applaud them for continuing to be a light in this world through the pandemic!" - Elaine Hagenberg, composer

"I have seen many concerts in my career, and Green Level's performance is top notch. Very engaging, quality singing, and entertaining from start to finish! Bravo!" - Freddie Lee Heath, WCPSS Director of Arts Education

Meet Our Director - Mr. Steven Olson

Mr. Olson, a native of Hazard, Kentucky, received his Bachelor degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky in 2017. His teaching career has included teaching middle and high school students in school districts in Metro Atlanta as well as Wake County, NC. He has been the choir director at Green Level High School in Cary since the school's opening in the Fall of 2019. He is also the Professional Development Chair for High School Choral Directors in the WCPSS.

When not working, Mr. Olson loves traveling as often as he can! (most recently to France and the Netherlands!)

Many of his students remark on how gifted Mr. Olson is at telling dad jokes.
